The one-night tournament bracket of Cage Warriors 59 has been revealed, with the winner set to be crowned CWFC bantamweight champion.

Brett Johns (7-0) will face David Haggstrom (7-1-1) in one semi-final. Haggstrom’s only professional loss came at the hands of Johns’ team-mate Dino Gambatesa back in July, 2011.

In the other semi-final, two of the UK’s top-10 bantamweights will collide when Martin McDonough (11-4) takes on James Pennington (8-1). McDonough last tasted defeat in 2011 against James Brum, a team-mate of Pennington’s.

Having recently won the Shock N’ Awe bantamweight title, Pennington (pictured) aims to claim an additional championship, considered by some to be on his way to the UFC bantamweight ranks with a good showing at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on Saturday, 14 September, 2013.

Semi-final bouts will consist of two five minute rounds. In the event of a draw, a final overtime round will be contest, with the tournament final consisting of up to five five-minute rounds. A reserve bout will be added in the case of participant withdrawals

CWFC 59 is headlined by Featherweight champion Jim Alers defending his 145lb crown against Martin Svensson.
