Full Contact Contender (FCC) has confirmed the first batch of fights for FCC 8, which takes place in the Premier Suite at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on November 2nd, 2013.

In the evening’s main event, former FCC professional flyweight champion Pietro Menga looks to regain the gold against Jody Collins. Menga captured the title with a first round submission of Mark Platts earlier this year, before forfeiting it ahead of his bout with Artemij Sitenkov at FCC 6 after missing weight. Menga dominated the bout regardless, and will be looking to leave The Reebok a champion when he clashes with Collins on November 2nd.

Jody Collins (6-2) is a bantamweight moving down to a more natural home in the flyweight division. The eight-fight veteran most recently came up short against current Ultimate Fighter hopeful Mike Wootten at 135lbs, and has faced Cage Warriors duo Cory Tait and Spencer Hewitt. He lost to the former and defeated the latter in only his second pro bout, snapping Hewitt’s five-fight unbeaten streak in the process.

Promoter Adam Teh said: “The 2nd of November marks FCC’s 2nd birthday, and we plan on throwing an incredible party! It’s great to have a European level talent like Pietro Menga back on the show, and I’m looking forward to seeing what Jody Collins can do at his more natural weight of 125lbs.”

Staying true to its amateur roots, FCC 8 will see no less than three amateur titles on the line. Amateur lightweight champion Martin Chester returns for the second defence of his title, this time facing the formidable challenge of Team Monkey MMA Academy’s Ashley Reece. In the light heavyweight division, Shawn Hampton makes the first defence of his title against Alex Bristow, while unbeaten heavyweight monsters clash as Rob Beech of HAMMA takes on Hyde MMA’s Tom Bankevics.

Adam Teh said: “It just wouldn’t be an FCC event without some of the region’s best amateurs putting it all on the line. Martin Chester is looking to equal an FCC record with two consecutive title defences, but Reece is carrying a lot of momentum into this one and will be looking to upset the applecart. Alex Bristow didn’t get the win in the way he wanted last time, so he’ll have a massive point to prove when he faces submission expert Shawn Hampton. Speaking of massive, we’re having to reinforce the cage for the heavyweight title fight between Rob Beech and Tom Bankevics; this is a huge fight in every sense of the word!”

FCC’s second birthday party, FCC 8, takes place in the Premier Suite at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on November 2nd, 2013, with highlights to be broadcast on Sky’s MyChannel as a later date.
