Late changes have been made to the card, with James ‘Power Weasel’ Pennington (7-1-0) now facing Ben Crook (7-7-0) this weekend, in the main event of Shock N’ Awe 14 from the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth. Original contender Leigh Remedious was forced out with an injury.

The fight is for the vacant Shock N Awe bantamweight title, and is likely to end with excitement, with odds on favourite Pennington having only had one career bout decided by the judges.

Pennington last saw off James Doolan via an armbar at Cage Warriors 53 in April, While in contrast, Crook will be looking to end a short run of defeats, having previously defeated former Shock N’ Awe champion Scott Pooley

Submission specialist Pennington is a former Shock N Awe Bantamweight champion, and when asked about the fight by the promotion he had this to say:

“Fighting back on Shock n Awe is going to be special, I’m aiming to get my belt back and beating a UFC veteran and UK MMA legend in Leigh Remedios to become the champion again would be amazing. Yes Leigh is much more experienced, he has a skill set that can really challenge me but I think I’ll end up submitting him.”

The local lad Pennington is sure to have the crowd behind when he steps into the cage to fight Crook.

With a mixture of pro, semi-pro and amateur fights beforehand, the crowd is sure to be pumped up for the event.

Also, due to Phil Else rolling his ankle during a training session, his bout versus Scott Hunt has been removed altogether, making way for Matt ‘Short Fuze’ Hughes ve  Alexei Roberts to move up and fill the co-main event spot, in what’s become an eargerly anticipated clash via social media.
