The North West’s hottest amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event, Full Contact Contender (FCC), is proud to confirm the official results for FCC 8: Minogue vs Chadwick, which took place on this Saturday November 2nd at the Premier Suite in Bolton’s Reebok Stadium.

The evening’s main event saw Alex Minogue and Lee Chadwick go three hard rounds for the FCC Pro Middleweight title. ‘The Butcher’ bossed the action early, implementing his suffocating grappling game up against the fence. Minogue mounted a late rally in the 1st though, coming back with some accurate striking and a takedown of his own to end the round.

The second stanza saw SBG Mainline’s Minogue do some great work behind his jab, using it to keep Chadwick at bay and set up combinations. The Liverpudlian answered back with leg kicks and resorted to loading up power punches as the contest wore on. Chadwick controlled the majority of the action in the third, pushing his man against the fence to dictate the pace whenever he felt troubled by Minogue’s striking. Ultimately the judges were called upon to render a decision, with all three giving Chadwick the nod.

The show was stolen by one of the most incredible amateur fight to take place on UK soil. Champion Martin Chester looked well on his way to retaining his title against Ashley Reece after a dramatic first round. The Reps MMA fighter dropped his opponent early on with a crushing hook, only for Reece to survive the onslaught. As the round was coming to a close, Chester struck again with the same punch. Reece looked out, but was saved by the bell and had to be helped back to his corner.

By the start of the second, the Team Monkey MMA Academy fighter had recovered, and took it to Chester with renewed vigour. The pair traded punches, kicks and knees, with neither giving any quarter. In the dying moments, Reece’s body-shots began to find a home, folding Chester against the cage. Reece pounced with an onslaught of ground ‘n’ pound, but it was Chester’s turn to be saved by the bell.

Reece looked exhausted between rounds, having seemingly put everything into that final burst. As the third round started, the Reps MMA man looked confident, and came out searching for the hook that had dropped his man in the first. Reece wasn’t to be denied though, again forcing Chester to the mat with attacks to the body, before unleashing a torrent of punches to the head of his opponent. Referee Dean Weir gave the champion every opportunity, before stepping in for the TKO stoppage.

Elsewhere on the card, Tom Bankevics steamrolled Rob Beech to earn the FCC Amateur Heavyweight title with a first round rear naked choke, while Shaun Hampton slapped an elbow-snapping keylock on late replacement Ryan Hennessey to retain his light heavyweight crown.
