An explosive welterweight contest of Wendle Lewis vs Leon Edwards has been added to the card of BAMMA 14, with the promotion expected to officially confirm the bout on Tuesday afternoon.
Lewis (6-1) will be making his BAMMA debut, and returns to action for the first time this year due to multiple injury setbacks having most recently faced a shoulder issue. Fighting out of Team Titan, Lewis most recently forced a doctor stoppage that saved Kester Mumba during the second round of UWC 21 in October of 2012.
In contrast, Edwards (4-1) was last in action this past September at BAMMA 13 (pictured). The UTC product swiftly submitted Adam Boussif with an arm-triangle choke at 2:10 in the first round. Currently on a 2-fight win streak in BAMMA, Edwards is yet to be stopped having only lost via disqualification due to an illegal knee against Delroy McDowell at Fight UK 6
BAMMA 14 takes place on December 14 at the Birmingham LG Arena. Headlined by leading British welterweight Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley vs Romario Silva, the main card also features BAMMA World Lightweight Champion Mansour Barnaoui vs Colin ‘Freakshow’ Fletcher for the 155lbs crown and Ion Pascu challenging Scott Askham for the BAMMA world middleweight title.
