Following an exciting night of fights at the Singapore Indoor Arena in Singapore, MMA Plus has put its matchmaker hat on to pick our fights to make following ONE Dynasty of Heroes.

#3 Garry Tonon vs. Shinya Aoki (MMA)

Now before we receive a torrent of abuse for this pick, we know this fight would more likely than not be too soon for the Renzo Gracie trained fighter. Going up against someone of the calibre of Aoki, who has had almost 50 professional fights, in his maiden MMA outing would quite frankly be fool hardy.

But after Aoki’s stellar display yesterday in a match where he dominated the multiple time no-gi BJJ champion for almost 7 straight minutes before being caught with a heel hook submission, it would be very interesting to see what the outcome would be under MMA rules.

Following the submission win, Tonon (0-0 MMA) announced that he would be making the transition to mixed martial arts so one day this match-up could become a reality.

#2 Ben Askren vs. Vitaly Bigdash….. or Zebaztian Kadestam

Following yet another dominant win under the ONE promotional banner, welterweight king Ben “Funky” Askren made it abundantly clear who he wanted to face next following an impressive 1st round submission win over Agilan Thani.

Askren (16-0-1) called for a super fight against middleweight champion Vitaly Bigdash at the Victor Cui-led promotions return to the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday, August 18, 2017.

The fight with Bigdash (9-0) was originally scheduled to take place at last Decembers aborted ONE event that was due to be held in Bangkok but was cancelled due to the unfortunate passing of the King of Thailand.

If this fight is made again, it has all the hallmarks to potentially be one of the biggest fights in the history of ONE Championship and could potentially see the man called “Funky” become a double champion.

If this fight does not come to fruition a fight with Sweden’s Zebaztian Kadestam, who shocked the world when he KO’d former title challenger Luis Santos in the final round of the fight which that took place earlier on in the evening to become the top contender in the 170 lb division, would make the most sense.

#1 Anglea Lee vs. Polyana Viana

Angela Lee further enhanced her growing reputation as the face of Asian mixed martial arts after forcing Brazil’s Istela Nunes to tap to an anaconda choke to record the 6th submission win of her young career.

Lee (8-0) who in the last 13-months has effectively cleaned out ONE’s 115 lb division after defeating Rebecca HeintzmanMei Yamaguchi and Jenny Huang alongside her most recent opponent meaning options are now limited for the 20-year old.

Therefore a match-up with yet another Brazilian, Jungle Fight veteran Polyana Viana who is currently riding a 4-fight winning streak could be the order of the day.

During her unbeaten run,  Viana (8-1) has defeated the likes of Karoline TelesAmanda Ribas and most recently Debora Dias in May 2016 to move to 8-1 since her professional debut in 2014.
