On June 27 the MMA community will be fixated on the inaugural showcase of Macto Championships at the Arena:MK in Milton Keynes. In the headline attraction, British UFC veteran Nick Osipczak will make his eagerly anticipated return to competition, and County Durham’s Kyle Redfearn is the man who plans to overturn Osipczak’s apple cart in their welterweight fight.

Unfazed by the excitement surrounding the long awaited return of his counterpart, Redfearn is confidently unconcerned by what his opponent will bring on June 27, and has the opposite in mind for fight night with intentions to make sure that it’s Osipczak who feels troubled from the offset of the fight. Coached by the likes of UFC veterans Davey Grant and Curt Warburton, in addition to Carl Fawcett and Terry Fahy, the 24-year-old plans on dispatching his own brand of offence, leaving no space for Osipczak to push back.

“I feel confident,” Redfearn explained. “I always feels confident going in to a fight. I’m just going to inflict my game on him, make him think about me and put him on the defense all the time.

“I go in to every fight wanting to knock people out and nothing’s going to change this time.”

A veteran of standout UKMMA shows such as Made 4 the Cage, BAMMA and Cage Warriors, Redfearn joins the list of fighters who are joining the stacked Macto lineup with confidence that it could be their best career experience to date.

As the debut of Macto Championships approaches, both Redfearn and Osipczak agree on one thing, and that’s that Macto will live up to its ambition.

“It feels good, it looks like they’re doing it right. There’s not much more a fighter wants than to get looked after by a show.

“It’s great, we’re getting looked after, they’re putting us up in a nice hotel, bringing us down for photos with expenses paid; it’s a well run show.

“It’s going to be a big show by the looks of things with plenty more to come.

“It looks like every fighter in the UK will want to be on this show, they’re bringing one of the biggest shows in the UK and they’re bringing some of the best fights as well.”
