Speaking exclusively with MMA Plus Magazine, top UK welterweight and former UFC contender Paul Daley discussed his previosuly mentioned K1 aspirations, and the possibility of ‘Semtex’ appearing on a major kickboxing show in the near future.

Accumilting a high amount of fights is something Daley has always respected more than a win/loss record. While he aims to win each and every fight in the explosive fashion of which he’s known for, what Daley hopes for most is to simply keep fighting. At the age of 30 Daley approaches his 49th MMA contest at BAMMA 14.

“Obviously, my passion is stand-up and striking. I love MMA but I love Thai boxing as well, I’ve just been amazed at how many fights they’ve had, whether they’ve lost 50 or won 200, for me that was amazing.”

Interestingly, Daley revealed that a major kickboxing promotion was in fact on the cards, with a potential fight coming in early 2014.

“I don’t know if there’s too much that I can say on the subject, I’m working with a lot of people at the moment. Spirit Dojo is my own brand, my own gym, and my main focus area is kickboxing even though I’m competing in MMA, I’ve got one eye on the kickboxing world. As a gym we’re in talks with lots of big promotions and me as an athlete is quite a bargaining tool to bring some of my guys on in the sport. There is a very good likihood that in the early months of next year I’ll compete in a kickboxing fight on a big show, the fight that we’re looking at is probably not going to be in the UK.”
