Frenchman Crice Boussoukou has been added to the GLORY 22 lightweight tournament, as a late replacement for Denmark’s Niclas Larsen, in the promotion’s first French venture.

The event takes place at Stade Pierre Mauroy, in Lille, France on Friday, June 5, and will mark the GLORY debut of Crice Boussoukou, who trains out of the well respected Team Nasser K.

A 41-fight veteran, and the holder of Champion Du Monde Muay Thai VMC 2014, as well as the current -70kg Venum world champion, Boussoukou is a very accomplished addition to the lightweight contender tournament brackets.

Prominently a thai fighter, Boussoukou will be most well known to British muay thai fans for his spectacular 2014 fight of the year against Brad Stanton at Yokkao 11, last October.

Boussoukou faces Canada’s Josh Jauncey in the semi-finals; who has been promoted as one of GLORY’s future stars. The prospect will have a very tough semi-final match up with Boussoukou. The French fighter presents a very awkward style, as he prefers to fight at length, and pressure his opponents into the corners of the ring.

It will be a arduous fight for Jauncey, but should he win, it will surely be the biggest victory of his career, against one of his most experienced foes to date.

However, if the Nasser K mentored fighter reaches the final, it potentially opens up a rematch against Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong; should he get past Davit Kiria in the other semi-final. Boussoukou fought the Thai back in February of this year, losing a pretty tight five round decision under muay thai rules at the La Nuit Des Titans event.

As well as the addition of Crice Boussoukou, GLORY announced that due to a training injury to Karim ‘Gadjetboy’ Ghajii he will be replaced by Cedric Doumbe (48-3-1, 32 KO’s) against Yoann Kongolo (59-5, 45 KO’s) on the GLORY Superfight Series section of the card.
