GLORY will be returning to “The Windy City” this summer.

Sears Centre Arena will play host to GLORY 44 Chicago on Friday, August 25, the promotion announced on Thursday, marking the fourth time GLORY has put on a fight card there. GLORY 11, GLORY 27 and GLORY 38 have all taken place at Sears Centre Arena, which is located in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

“When we announced GLORY 38 late last year, I talked about making the Chicago area a regular stop on our event calendar and the history that’s already been made with our partners at Sears Centre Arena,” said GLORY CEO Jon J Franklin. “Well, we’re back!

“GLORY 38 was a massive success thanks to our fans and we’re looking to create that same energy and excitement once again with a big-time fight card.”

GLORY featherweight Richard Abraham (11-5) has been announced for the card, as has GLORY heavyweight Catalin Morosanu (44-10). Abraham, an Illinois native, has now lost two in a row, dropping a unanimous decision to Jamie Bates at GLORY 40, and a split decision to Antoine Pinto at GLORY 38.

Morosanu made his promotional debut at GLORY 38, and the Romanian veteran put on a show in his TKO victory over Maurice Greene, much to the delight of the Romanian fans in attendance that evening.

Opponents for Abraham and Morosanu, and the remaining matchups for the GLORY 44 and GLORY 44 Superfight Series will be announced in the coming weeks.
