Chris Camozzi has the date and venue set for his GLORY debut. The former UFC fighter will kickbox for the first time on December 1 in the Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York as part of GLORY 48.

Camozzi announced his fight on Friday during the GLORY 44 weigh-ins in Chicago. His opponent is yet to be confirmed.

The 30-year-old American left the UFC in June after his third stint with organisation. With three losses in his last three bouts, he announced on Twitter that his contract had expired and that he was a free agent on June 2.

Over a seven year-period, Camozzi fought 19 times inside the Octagon. He got his hand raised in nine of those contests, two times by (T)KO against Joe Riggs and Nick Catone.

He also has a submission win over former GLORY middleweight title challenger Dustin Jacoby on his resume, who he cornered during Friday’s event.

On July 25, Camozzi announced on The MMA Hour he signed a multi-fight deal with GLORY to be added to their middleweight division, although that doesn’t exclude him from competing in MMA: “I’m not leaving MMA, but I am going to make a little bit of a switch–to GLORY kickboxing,” Camozzi said.

GLORY 48 will be GLORY’s second event in the Theater at Madison Square Garden this year. In July the kickboxing organisation returned to MSG for the first time since GLORY 12 in November 2013 with GLORY 43.

Other match-ups for this card have not been announced yet.

Eight days after GLORY 48, GLORY returns to the Netherlands for the third time in 2017 with GLORY 49 in Ahoy Rotterdam. GLORY heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven is set to defend his belt for the first time in 15 months in a rematch against Jamal Ben Saddik in the main event.
