GLORY 22

The GLORY 22 fight card has been leaked, and the promotion are set to venture to the Stade Pierre Mauroy, Lille, France on June 5, which is expected to be headlined by Rico Verhoeven defending his heavyweight championship against a unannounced opponent.

The news comes after rumours that the promotion had plans to return to Europe, more specifically to Rome or Milan, Italy on the heels of Giorgio Petrosyan’s win over Enriko Kehl at Okatagon 2015.

Interestingly, Verhoeven’s “TBA” opponent is accompanied by a Russian flag, which speculatively could mean a fight with #2 ranked Sergei Kharitonov. These two fought back at GLORY 4: Tokyo in the Heavyweight Grand Slam Tournament, First Round, with Verhoeven scoring the decision win.

Zack Mwekassa is also schedule to make his return in a light-heavyweight superfight, and a deadly lightweight contender tournament is also scheduled. Canadian prospect Josh Jauncey will face Niclas Larsen, and former champion Davit Kiria returns against newly signed Thai Sittichai Sitsongpeenong.

The GLORY 22 Superfight Series also looks a fantastic affair, with light-heavyweight showdown between Mourad Bouzidi and Filip Verlinden.

Update: GLORY have confirmed via press release that the card will indeed be taking place in Lille.
