The new Interim Light-Heavyweight champion Zack Mwekassa wants to fight Kickboxing legend Gokhan Saki in his next fight for GLORY Kickboxing.

Mwekassa finished Mourad Bouzidi in the first round to claim the victory, but despite being the interim title holder, the African sensation dismissed a unification fight with currently-injured champion Artem Vakhitov in favour of a heavy-hitting kickboxing dream match.

32-year-old Saki has been on the inactivity list since April, 2014 but was scheduled to fight former 95kg champion Saulo Cavalari at GLORY 28: Paris in March. A training injury supposedly forced him out of that match-up and “The Rebel” has yet to show any interest in re-making that fight.

After his first round stoppage win over Mourad Bouzidi at GLORY 31 in Amsterdam, an emotional Mwekassa spoke about flying back to Africa on short notice, his punching power and wanting to fight Saki.
