GLORY 37: SuperFight Series and GLORY 37 take place on Friday, 21 January from L.A. Live in Los Angeles, Calif. and features two GLORY world title bouts.

In the GLORY 37 main event, Jason Wilnis makes the first defence of his Middleweight title against tournament winner Israel Adesanya. The title challenger from New Zealand earned his shot at GLORY 34: Denver, where he defeated both Robert Thomas and Yousri Belgaroui by decision.

Meanwhile, the Middleweight champion Wilnis is set to make his 11th appearance under the GLORY banner, in his first championship defence since beating Simon Marcus in New Jersey last September.

It is unfortunate that Wilnis hasn’t received the applause he deserves, with victories over Filip Verlinden, Joe Schilling and Marcus in 2016 proving his legitimacy as one of the best 187lb fighters in kickboxing. Adesanya proves a tough fight for Wilnis, with his technical boxing approach, but the Dutch champion is renowned for his hellacious pace which could be a problem for the tentative and relaxed Kiwi.

On the GLORY 37: SuperFight Series; broadcast on UFC Fight Pass, Featherweight champion Robin van Roosmalen defends against rising Canadian sensation Matt Embree.

RvR is the first man to have held two GLORY titles, having previously clasped the Lightweight gold before dropping down to Featherweight, which he won when he defeated Gabriel Varga at GLORY 34.

4th ranked Featherweight Embree – training partner of Simon Marcus – burst onto the GLORY scene at GLORY 33: New Jersey where Matt “Matics” defeated ChiBin Lim and Giga Chikadze in scintillating fashion.

There’s certainly hope for Embree as a future star but he has the difficult task of progressing past 15 GLORY fight veteran van Roosmalen. The cardio of “Pokerface” has always been a huge testament to his success, and he has not been finished in the promotion since GLORY 12 against Andy Ristie.

Elsewhere, there is a Welterweight contender tournament, featuring Karim Benmansour, Alan Scheinson, Yoann Kongolo and Konstantin Khuzin.

Interestingly, following his championship victory at GLORY Collision, Cedric Doumbe called for a rematch with Kongolo, so he could avenge his GLORY 22 decision loss.
