GLORY Heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven admitted he is hopeful for a rematch with Badr Hari following GLORY Collision, but insists ‘let’s see’ before any more talk of a redux.

Verhoeven secured a career defining win over “Golden Boy” on December 10 in Oberhausen, Germany, the stoppage came at 1:22 of round two when Hari suffered an arm injury from a Verhoeven knee.

As Hari walked away from Verhoeven; clearly indicating the injury to his arm, a feeling of disappointment fell over the König Pilsener Arena, with the fight ending in a manner that nobody could have predicted.

Regardless of the abrupt ending, the event itself felt nothing short of astonishing, with an indescribable atmosphere which will long live in the memory of the fortunate 13,000 in attendence.

When asked about a potential rematch with Hari – who had told Rico: “I will knock you the f–k out” following his loss – the “King of Kickboxing” remained hopeful that the two superstars will meet again.

“Let’s see man, I hope the fight will happen but like he said let’s first focus on his health and I’m going to focus on my career. There’s more people in the line, more people coming in the line from old generations to new generations so let’s see.”

As the confetti rained down to mark the finale of a once in a lifetime Collision event, history maker Verhoeven hailed himself as the number one star in all of kickboxing.

“Let me correct you on one thing,” claimed Verhoeven, “I’m the biggest kickboxing star worldwide not just in Holland, there’s no kickboxer that ever done what I’ve done, so I’m making history.”
