On Friday afternoon, GLORY hosted the weigh-ins for GLORY 41 and GLORY 41 Superfight Series inside Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Schiphol, Netherlands.
Things got heated immediately after welterweight Alan Scheinson stepped off the scale to square off with Murthel Groenhart. Scheinson walked up to Groenhart, bumping the brim of the hat he was wearing, and Groenhart responded by shoving him with both hands in the throat. Scheinson came forward, but GLORY matchmaker Cor Hemmers and GLORY CEO Jon J. Franklin stepped in to prevent the situation from escalating.
Groenhart and Scheinson will settle their differences on the GLORY 41 Superfight Series, which will air on UFC Fight Pass at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The five-fight main card for GLORY 41 will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Hesdy Gerges (49-18-1) and Tomas Hron (84-17-3).
GLORY 41 will air on ESPN3 at 1 p.m ET.
The co-main will be a featherweight contest between Chenglong Zhang (38-5) and Wilson Sanches Mendeson (5-2-1).
In addition to those two fights, there will be a one-night, four-man tournament taking place in the heavyweight division. In the semi-finals, Anderson Silva (40-16-1) faces Giannnis Stoforidis (19-5), and D’Angelo Marshall (14-2) takes on Mohamed Abdallah (12-1).
In the main event of the GLORY 41 Superfight Series, heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven (50-10) will defend his title against Isamel Lazaar (30-2-2).
Another title will be on the line in the co-main event when former featherweight and lightweight champion Robin van Roosmalen (37-7) takes on Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao (156-35-2) for the vacant GLORY featherweight title.
