It’s official, Elba won his professional kickboxing debut at York Hall, London on October 28.

Rumours of a winning result had been reported at the time by various news platforms after Madonna who, is a friend of the ‘The Wire’ TV star, had posted a clip of his ‘Road to Glory’ fight on Instagram.

However, the result has now been officially confirmed to MMA Plus by the UK partnership (co-promoted by Elba’s coach and Muay Thai Grand Prix co-promoter, Kieran Keddle).

What can be said about the growing movie star’s opponent on that eventful night in late October? He fought a competent and experienced kickboxer from the world renown Mike’s Gym in Amsterdam, Netherlands who, gave the British actor one heck of an experience in the ring.

Idris Elba: Fighter will air on the Discovery Channel from January 17, 2017 in a three part documentary series following the Hollywood actor’s journey around the world in-preparation for his professional kickboxing debut. On his quest, he spars with the likes of K-1 veteran and former world boxing champion, Francois Botha; seeks advice from Japanese kickboxing legend Masato and is supported by former GLORY light-heavyweight kickboxer, Tyrone Spong; under the guidance of his good friend, coach and Double K Gym owner, Keddle.
