World Fighting League have set the date for their first event in the United Kingdom, with the Melvin Manhoef owned promotion set to debut WFL England in early 2018.

The debut of WFL England ‘New Talents’ takes place on February 24, 2018 and will be located at the Eston Sports Academy in Middlesborough, situated in the North East of England.

WFL England is an affiliated franchise of the main World Fighting League and is co-owned by main man, Manhoef and respected North East promoter, Garry Bell.

Bell – who is also the promoter for Contender Promotions – and Manhoef were originally slated to run their first joint show in September. No reason has been disclosed for the change in schedule.

The event will feature a 4-man heavyweight tournament as well as an 86kg (super-middleweight) tournament. Aside to that, the debut WFL England event will host seven super fights. No competitors for the card have been named.

As for WFL, their next event is the WFL: Final 16, which is set for October 29 in Almere, the Netherlands. That event will be headlined by Manhoef, who faces off against the returning Remy Bojasky; his first competitive kickboxing bout in three years.
