John Wayne Parr will travel to London, England on March 26, 2016 to face the UK number one Michael Wakeling on Muay Thai Grand Prix 3 at The O2 indigo.
Wakeling was originally scheduled to face Regian Eersel at MTGP2 on November 22, however an undisclosed injury forced him out of the fight.
The announcement was made by MTGP promoter Kieran Keddle on the latest episode of MTGP All Access.
The 39-year-old Wayne Parr has become internationally renowned for his accomplishments in Muay Thai and at MTGP3 he will once again have the opportunity to prove why he is one of the greatest of all time against a man who has remained undefeated for the past 10 years.
Wayne Parr last fought on Lion Fight 25; MTGP’s American affiliation, in a losing effort to Brazilian Cosmo Alexandre. The trilogy fight was ended in unanimity for Alexandre who now owns all three wins over JWP.
The last; and only time, Wayne Parr has fought in England, was against older Wakeling sibling Steven in March 2006. Wakeling would win the fight by Split Decision to capture the WBC Muay Thai World Middleweight Championship.
Now, the Australian legend will have his opportunity for second hand vengeance when he faces younger brother Michael at MTGP3.
