A purse bid is set to engulf kickboxing, with Dutch promotion Enfusion opening the line with a serious offer to host Rico Verhoeven and Badr Hari.

Reported on Ziggo Sport Totaal, Enfusion CEO Edwin van Os made a $500,000 purse offer to Verhoeven and Hari to make the fight happen.

This was further clarified by a Facebook post from Enfusion:

Also stated during the interview, Akhmat’s Ramzan Kadyrov will make a serious attempt to host the fight. It is rumoured that his offer may exceed seven figures.

The fight between Verhoeven and Hari is the most sought after match-up in kickboxing history. It has created one of the first ever, genuine purse bids in the sport’s history. Despite numerous promotions with money on the table, the ball is still very much in the court of GLORY Kickboxing.

Verhoeven is the current GLORY Heavyweight champion, he is reportedly still under contract with the promotion. In essence, GLORY could veto Verhoeven from fighting elsewhere.

With Verhoeven potentially heading to MMA, a match-up with Hari is one of the few big fights still left for him. Although, Hari continues to find himself in the media spotlight for all the wrong reasons, most recently because of a bar fight.

A close source has also indicated that GLORY are very much interested in making the fight happen under their banner. Hari’s behaviour outside of the ring has blighted his chances with the promotion before – as well as his incredibly high asking price. However, it’s definitely a fight GLORY are at least considering on making an offer for.
