Conor McGregor alongside Jon Lovitz in short comedy series 'The 13th Jockey'

There is no doubt that UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor is a natural born athlete and showman after all he has already been linked with other sports and organisations such as the WWE and boxing; but now it seems ‘The Notorious’ is going to try his hand at horse racing.

It has emerged that McGregor will star in a short comedy series about how the UFC’s only ever dual-weight champion will become the 13th jockey at the Pegasus World Cup Invitational also known as the world’s richest thoroughbred horse race.

The Irishman has been working alongside actor and comedian Jon Lovitz who stars as McGregor’s trainer throughout the series. Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger, attorney, Bloom Hergott LLP, represents both McGregor and Lovitz, and helped assist The Stronach Group in bringing the two A-listers to this project.

The first of the four short films has been released today via Pegasus World Cup Invitational social media channels with the other three being released on January 11th and 18th with the final episode airing live on the NBC race day broadcast on the 28th January which begins at 4.30 EST. The Dubliner looked very comfortable in front of the camera however after all he is only playing himself.

A press release containing a Q&A with McGregor was also issued alongside the release of the first episode and ‘The Notorious’ answered in typical McGregor fashion.
