Bellator 140

In the main event of Bellator 140 Russia’s Andrey Koreshkov claimed a one sided victory over Brazilian Douglas Lima to become the new Bellator welterweight champion at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

Former champion Lima who was making his Bellator return after a 15 months absence looked like he was suffering from ring rust and was never in the fight as Koreshkov surprised many by taking the former champion to the ground whenever possible and controlling his much larger opponent despite being swapped on a number of occasions.

The new champion would also control most of the action on the feet, utilising his jab throughout the 25 minute contest to keep Lima at bay and in turn he would be awarded the fight via unanimous decision to be crowned the new Bellator welterweight champion.
