After a lengthy process, Bellator MMA have today announced the signing of American welterweight Lorenz Larkin on a multi-fight deal. Larkin’s last fight was a convincing victory over contender Neil Magny on August 20, 2016.

Larkin was officially axed from the UFC roster in the beginning of February which saw himself, Rick Story and Misha Cirkunov removed from the updated rankings.

Talks with Bellator have been ongoing for several weeks and were believed to have come to a halt. However, it appears “The Monsoon” and Bellator MMA have reached an agreement. Bellator have revealed that Larkin, formerly of UFC is likely to make his debut before the end of the year.

The American was confident of a deal happening within two weeks of ACB 54 after exclusively revealing to MMA Plus at the Manchester event: “I’m saying two weeks. No more. I’ve said it before but I am pretty positive that it will be within two weeks.”

The Press Enterprise reports the Californian insisting: “They can expect me to get in there and fight my ass off like I always do. I feel like I’m in a great time in my life”.

Larkin quickly confirmed rumours of other organisations being interested in the fighter with UFC, Bellator, Rizin and Absolute Championship Berkut all contacting the American regarding a possible deal.
