Bellator have confirmed the signings of veteran voices Mike Goldberg and Mauro Ranallo yesterday as the promotion continues to pick up the biggest free agents in MMA as it strengthens its talent pool both inside and outside of the cage.

Former UFC commentator Goldberg will return to Spike for the first time in over five years, whilst Ranallo returns to work with a familiar face in Bellator President Scott Coker, whom he worked with in 2013 during his time with Coker’s Strikeforce promotion.

Bellator kingpin Coker expressed his delight at the two captures, stating “Mike Goldberg and Mauro Ranallo are two of the best in our business and I couldn’t be happier about them joining the Bellator family.

In addition to June 24 (Bellator NYC), we look forward to working together to make future Spike broadcasts even more exciting for our fans as we add further depth to an already exceptional broadcast team.”

Goldberg, known for his trademark catchphrases, brings a wealth of experience to the Bellator broadcast table having broadcast every major sport at network level. Ranallo, who currently works with Showtime Boxing, brings a personal passion for combat sports and a voice synonymous with classic PRIDE and Strikeforce events.

The pair of highly experienced commentators will bring their unique styles to the promotion for the first time at Bellator’s upcoming pay-per-view card in New York where Chael Sonnen faces Wanderlei Silva in the headline event inside the legendary Madison Square Garden. It is thought that Goldberg and Ranallo will not get to work together directly however with Ranallo due to take up presenting duties at the broadcast desk and Goldberg to partner existing colour commentator Jimmy Smith.
