Bellator 145

Bobby Lashley vs. James Thompson II. It’s the Heavyweight rematch that Bellator MMA have looked to match for the best part of a year, but at Bellator 145: Vengeance on November 6 it will (touch wood) finally happen in St. Louis, MO at the Scottrade Center.

After Thompson (20-14, 1 NC) took a split decision against Lashley (13-2) in 2012, a return fight between the pair has always been in discussion.

Said bout was originally scheduled to take place on February’s Bellator 134: The British Invasion, which fell through due to injuries to both men. The rematch was then slated for Bellator 138; the promotion’s last visit to St. Louis, however yet again was postponed through injuries.

Brit Thompson did sneakily take to his Facebook page earlier this month to announce the fight would take place on Nov. 6, however the promotion have only just made it official.

The announcement of the fight was made during the Bellator 143 telecast on Spike TV. Where an amped!? Thompson told former WWE wrestler Lashley: “stick to the pretend fighting mate, don’t bother with the MMA.”

Bellator 145: Vengeance will be headlined by two world title bouts. Including Patricio “Pitbull” Freire’s (24-2) Featherweight title defence against Daniel Straus (23-6) and Lightweight champion Will “Ill Will” Brooks (16-1) against Marcin Held (21-3).
