During last night’s Bellator 170 co-main event Nottingham slugger Paul “Semtex” Daley added “Irish” Brennan Ward to the list of victim’s who have been on the wrong end of one of his highlight reel knockouts.

Like his near decapitation of Brazil’s Marinho Moreira da Rocha at BAMMA 14 in September 2014, Semtex would treat fans to a mix of explosive power and world class striking against Ward and midway through the second stanza would bring an end to the highly anticipated encounter.

In the aftermath of the fight, the full extent of Ward’s (14-5) injuries were revealed earlier today. The 28-year old suffered a horrific cut near his left eye, which although appear to be superficial in nature makes the injury no less horrific.

Despite the stomach-churning injury, upon leaving the cage Ward was fully responsive and it is expected that he will make a full recovery.

During the post-fight press conference, Daley (39-14-2) spoke of the mixed emotions he was feeling after inflicting one of the most devastating stoppages you will likely see and KO that is already being hailed by some as an early contender for knockout of the year.
