British stars Michael “Venom” Page and Linton “The Swarm” Vassell have joined the cast of Bellator’s tentpole London event, Bellator 158 on July 16. Their opponents are yet to be named.
Page, who remains unbeaten with a record of 9-0, is arguably Britain’s hottest prospect within the sport and will compete in his home country for the first time since 2012.
The 29-year-old has won five straight under the Bellator banner since joining the promotion in 2013. “MVP” most recently defeated Charlie Ontiveros at Bellator 144 in October and will seek to pick up his tenth career victory against Jermie Holloway on Saturday.
Fellow Englishman, Linton Vassell, has also not competed at home in over three years but is in good form after beating top contender Emanuel Newton two months ago.
Bellator 158 was officially announced on SportsCenter last night by company President, Scott Coker.
Coker revealed that the card will be headlined by a 2008 rematch of Kimbo Slice and James Thompson . “The Colossus” will get the opportunity to avenge his TKO loss to the Florida native.
The co-main event is also rematch as Paul Daley goes up against UFC veteran Josh Koscheck. “Semtex” will be looking to extend his winning streak to six.
In the United Kingdom, the event will be broadcast free on SPIKE UK and Channel 5, while in America, the card will air free on SPIKE.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 22.
