Recently, there has been some criticism over the depth of Bellator MMA‘s Welterweight division, but Rory MacDonald is having none of it!

The newly signed Bellator fighter put his division on notice, with a series of Tweets on Wednesday night listing his potential opponents.

MacDonald became one of the biggest names in MMA history to test out the free agency market, with the Canadian fighter opting to leave the UFC to sign with the Scott Coker lead promotion.

The 27-year-old is expected to make his Bellator debut in 2017 as he waits for his nose to heal fully.

“The Red King” tweeted the following about his potential Bellator foes:

MacDonald – who was ranked as one of the UFC’s best 170lbers before his departure – came under some scrutiny over his decision to jump shimp. One person who called MacDonald’s move into question was UFC colour commentator and former Welterweight contender Dan Hardy.

Despite the apprehension toward’s Rory Mac’s decision to leave the UFC, it is more than evident that there is a strong crop of talent for the Tristar fighter to test himself against in Bellaotr.

Champion Andrey Koreshkov, Douglas Lima, Paul Daley and even Michael Page. Although there may be some thinking MacDonald will have an easy run in the promotion, it’s definitely not a given.

2017 is going to be a very interesting year for the 170lb division, that’s for sure.
