In a move that will surprise some undefeated Welsh bantamweight Brett Johns (10-0) has signed a multi-fight deal with American promotion Titan Fighting Championship.

Johns who is considered the number 1 ranked bantamweight in Europe not competing in the UFC made the announcement via his Facebook page.

Hi guys new fight news! I have recently signed a multi fight contract with Titan Fighting Championship out in the US! It’s a dream come true to fight in the states and it’s finally here! Thanks to all the people and promotions for all help I’ve had through my career! Chris Rees Andrew Burt Ashley Williams Bryn Jenkins Kyle James Davies Curtis Dodge Aidan James Ffion Eira Davies.
Thanks to Brian Butler-Au and Bryan Hamper at SUCKER PUNCH!
And also TITAN FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP! Scott Cutbirth!
USA BABY!

Undefeated as an amateur, the 22-year old has continued his impressive form since making his professional debut in June 2012, continuing the unbeaten start to his career racking up 10 wins in a row.

It would be this form that lead to the Chris Rees academy trained fighter being picked up by Europe’s number 1 mixed martial arts promotion Cage Warriors and would see the man affectionately named “The Pikey” win the CWFC bantamweight title in a 4-man, 1-night tournament in front of home fans at Cage Warriors 59 in September 2013.

Unfortunately for Swansea native he would not get the chance to defend his newly acquired title after missing weight in the lead up to his Cage Warriors 67 fight with James Brum, which would result in him having to vacate the title. Despite this setback the Welshman would put on a dominant performance on the way to securing a lopsided unanimous decision victory, maintaining the unbeaten start to his mixed martial arts career.

It would be this win which resulted in the bantamweight, considered by many as one of the brightest prospects in MMA being snapped up by the America promotion’s and will see Brett Johns compete outside Wales for the first time when he makes his Titan FC debut.
