A featherweight bout headlines ACB 87 this weekend as rising star Kane Mousah takes on former UFC veteran Robert Whiteford in one of the biggest domestic showdowns of the year so far.
In the lead up to Saturday’s main event, both fighters would take to social media to trade barbs with one another, with one highlight being Mousah referring to his opponent as “a little munchkin” and Whiteford firing back with “your f**ked son” which only increased fans anticipation for the fight.
Entering the bout Mousah is coming off the biggest win of his professional career when he defeated former Cage Warriors 145lbs champion Alex Enlund on his promotional debut at ACB 70 last September.
That win, his third on the spin since a 2016 KO loss to UFC staple Marc Diakiese helped the man nicknamed “The Danger” improve his professional record to 10-1. Now the Allpowers gym trained fighter will look to add yet another top name to his resume by defeating Whitehead.
When Scotland’s Whitehead steps inside the cage on Saturday night he will be looking to make it 3 wins on the bounce under the ACB promotional banner since departing the UFC in 2016.
During his current run, the 35-year old scored a unanimous decision win over Kevin Petshi at ACB 47 and only needed 21 seconds to lock in a guillotine choke on Nam Phan at ACB 54 last year and will look to end the beef with his latest adversary in emphatic fashion when he faces off against Mousah.
Also on this super card, Pietro Menga will take on UFC vet Takeya Mizugaki, former TUF winner Andre Winner will take on Adam Aliev and young guns will go to war as Dean Garnett goes to war with “The Black Panther” Dominique Wooding.
