Irish MMA veteran Chris Fields (12-7-1) is set to welcome dangerous knockout artist Wagner Prado (13-3) to the KSW cage in a mouthwatering light heavyweight encounter.

KSW 44 goes down on Saturday, June 9 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland and will see former Cage Warriors champion and TUF contestant, Fields look to claim back-to-back wins under the Martin Lewandowski-led promotions banner.

In his debut, the SBG Ireland based fighter earned a unanimous decision victory over Michal Fijalka to the delight of the “Housewife Choice” hometown fans last October.

When speaking about his upcoming fight the 34-year old stated “I’m looking forward to putting on a show for the fans. Prado is an explosive fighter but has shown he can’t grapple. He has been choked and knee barred…. and I like both.”

I was revealed earlier this week that his opponent Prado had signed a multi-fight contract with KSW. The 30-year-old has garnered a fierce reputation in Brazil as a finisher and dangerous KO artist having won all but one of his fights via KO/TKO. After going 8-0 as a professional he was snapped up by the UFC in 2012 and competed three times for the promotion including a pair of fights against Phil Davis. In late 2013 he returned to the Brazilian scene and picked up where he left off and has went 5-1 with five devastating stoppages in that time.

When the pair face-off, both men will be gunning for a shot at the KSW light heavyweight title held by Tomasz Narkun, who just defeated the legend Mamed Khalidov in a fight of the year candidate in March at KSW 42.
