Another stellar fight between two of Europe’s best has today been added to the EuroFC 02 card set for February 11th in Prague, Czech Republic.
Denmark’s Soren ‘The True Viking’ Bak (7-1) will make the walk to the EuroFC cage for a second time and will face Germany’s Christopher ‘Joker’ Henze (7-0-1).
Bak competed in the very first EuroFC fight ever this past October but was handed his first defeat of his professional career losing to Finn Aleksi Mantykivi. That loss is one he says he will learn from.
“We came home from Finland with a lot of valuable lessons. Most importantly, the lesson that I am not unrockable. I got caught twice in 20 seconds and that lost me the fight. This is not a lesson I am taking lightly,” Bak said.
Understandably the 24-year-old is raring to get back in there, get back to winning ways and get his “axe raised” in victory. He even gave Henze a glimpse of what he plans for him during their contest at EuroFC 02.
“I’m aching to get back in there, reclaim my rightful place with my arm raised after opening my opponent up with elbows”, Bak laughed. “Cristopher Henze is a tough and well rounded opponent with an 7-0-1 record, a situation I know all too well. This time we’ll have our strategy on point and I’m not leaving Prague without having my axe raised in the cage!”
Henze enters with an undefeated record. The 27-year-old made his professional debut in 2011 and has made a name for himself on the local German scene against some tough opponents. He enters this contest in flying form having scored two first round TKO finishes in his past two fights. This fight will mark his first time competing outside of Germany and he is certainly looking forward to fighting on the EuroFC stage and having a war with Bak.
“Years of hard work, litres of shed blood and sweat have paid off. I signed a contract with one of the best European MMA organizations,” said Henze. “I will have my next fight and my very first bout abroad in one of the most beautiful European capitals. The event will be broadcasted in several European countries on TV and I will fight in a venue that seats more than 15,000 people. The day has come for which we have worked so hard.
“I don’t fight for money, but I’m looking to challenge myself against tough opponents on a big stage. It’s a big honor for me to be a part of one of Europe’s very best events. People can look forward to a war when this kid from Leipzig crosses paths with the viking from Denmark!”
