Cage Warriors Fighting Championship officials have today confirmed several updates to the promotion’s hectic December schedule.

The final month of 2013 will see CWFC stage events in England, Jordan and Ireland, bringing the curtain down on the busiest year in the promotion’s history.

That schedule begins with Cage Warriors 62 this Saturday, December 7, in Newcastle, England, where injuries to Cory Tait and Alan Johnston have seen new opponents drafted in for Jordan Desborough and Tommy Quinn respectively.

Quinn will now take on Gateshead native Dan Hope at a catchweight of 176lbs, while Desborough will clash with Irishman Martin Sheridan in a 139lbs catchweight bout.

Next up is Cage Warriors 61 in Amman, Jordan, on Friday, December 13, where English bantamweight James Brum will aim for his seventh consecutive Cage Warriors win when he clashes with Russia’s Marat Pekov.

Brum (pictured) had been scheduled to face CWFC bantamweight champion Brett Johns this weekend in Newcastle, but an injury to Johns forced the cancellation of the bout.

The 26-year-old said: “I’m excited to return to Jordan to fight Marat Pekov, who has a big fanbase out there just like I do. I can’t wait to enter the cage, punch each other in the face and hear the crowd blow the roof off the arena.”

Pekov will be making his second appearance on a Cage Warriors card, having most recently suffered a unanimous decision loss to Ronnie Mann at CWFC Fight Night 9 in October.

“The fight against Mann was very close but it went to the judges and they gave it his way,” said Pekov. “I won’t make the same mistake against Brum. It won’t be left in the hands of the judges this time.”

Also at Cage Warriors 61, Arnold Allen will now meet Scottish featherweight prospect Doni Miller after Taylor Lapilus was forced out due to injury.

On the back of an impressive unbeaten amateur career, highly-touted Jordanian prospect Jarrah Al-Selawe will make his professional debut against WelshmanJames Burrows in a welterweight contest.

Elsewhere, a new opponent is currently being sought for Catherine Costiganafter Elodie Puget withdrew from their atomweight bout, scheduled for Cage Warriors 63 at The Helix in Dublin on New Year’s Eve, due to injury.
