As the buzz surrounding Warrior Fight Series’ debut show begins to wear off within the UK MMA community, we’re hear to get some post-fight words from the main and co-main event winners on how it felt fighting for the new promotion, winning titles and getting the win this past weekend on June 14.

Jefferson George took the lightweight title home in the co-main event with a win over Jamie Reynolds and he had this to say:

“It was a good experience fighting on a new show and it was great to share this with my Morefire Icon BJJ teammate John Shink who also gained a win on the night. It was a good fight, I felt relaxed, decisive in my decisions and composed throughout. I’m really excited to have a second belt, this time in a different weight class, and I look forward to defending my new title!”

In the main event Mike Neun took on and defeated Lloyd Clarkson. Devastatingly, though, he was unable to take the title home due to not making weight, something he has never had a problem with in the past. He had this to say:

“Fighting on WFS was a good experience. All the staff tried extremely hard to make it the best show they could. The fight was the hardest of my career physically and I had to dig deep to get through it. (Lloyd) had a concrete head and the more I beat him, the harder he seemed to become! I sort of stuck to a game plan, but I cut weight too hard and I was struggling with my cardio as a result. I could have done a lot of things different but hindsight is a wonderful thing! As for the title, I’m pretty gutted, I worked so hard for that fight, I wish it was different but I just couldn’t get the weight off. That is the first and last time I will ever do it, I like my food too much, but it’s changing and that’s because I should have that title right now!”
