It’s now been revealed that England’s Jimi Manuwa (pictured) is expected to face off against Mauricio Rua in ‘Shogun’s’ home nation of Brazil on November 8.

34-year-old Manuwa (14-1) tasted defeated for the first time in his career in March when suffering a TKO loss against top light-heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson at the O2 Arena in London. The ‘Poster Boy’ had previously amassed a fearsome 14-fight undefeated streak consisting of thirteen knockouts and one submission. The knockout artist had swiftly dispatched of Kyle Kingsbury, Cyrille Diabate, and Ryan Jimmo in the UFC prior to facing Gustafsson.

Despite being two years younger, Rua (22-9) carries considerably more mileage with a career dating back to 2002. The former UFC light-heavyweight champion and Pride Grand Prix winner also tasted defeated back in March against Dan Henderson in a rematch following their epic encounter in 2011. The Brazilian also felt defeat at the hands of Gustafsson via unanimous decision in 2012, and was last victorious with a first round knockout victory over James Te-Huna in December, 2013.

Both fighters are known for their effective striking prowess; Rua – the experienced, technical veteran and Manuwa as the extremely hard hitting, yet composed power puncher.
