ONE Welterweight World Champion, Ben “Funky” Askren has made public that he will only fight Luis “Sapo” Santos if the Brazilian can make a Catchweight of 190lbs.
ONE: PRIDE OF LIONS takes place, 13 November, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Santos came in 2lbs over the 170lb championship limit for the ONE PRIDE OF LIONS main event and Askren has categorically stated that the fight will not happen unless Santos can weigh in at 190lbs on the day of the fight.
Askren took to Twitter to react:
Santos missed. My demand is that Santos makes 190lbs tomorrow or else the fight is off.

Obviously, this will put restrictions on the amount of weight both men can rehydrate this evening, which in terms of fighter health and safety could be seen controversially.
