After months of back and forth between Chi Lewis-Parry and Brandon Vera, both men will face off at ONE Spirit of Champions on December 11 in Manilla, The Philippines.
The fight is now official, after both fighters posted videos of them signing contracts. The bout will crown the first ever ONE Heavyweight champion at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Vera (13-7-1NC) uploaded a video to his official Facebook page of him signing the contract agreement for the bout.
The former UFC fighter said: “Chai iced tea? Lewis-Perry? Parry? Listen man, whatever the hell your name is. You asked for me? You got me. Now the contract right here in front of me, I’m signing this bad boy.”
“Feel bad for you son. Enjoy the time that you have. The show is on baby.”
‘The Truth’, 37, made his ONE debut at Warrior’s Way in December 2014, where he defeated Igor Subora by a vicious soccer kick.
In response, Lewis-Parry went to Dunkin’ Donuts, and ordered ‘one large, chubby, custard filled, wimpy looking donut’. Of course, in typcial ‘Chopper’ fashion, his donut turned out to be the official fight contract.
Lewis-Parry (6-0-1NC), has fought twice in the promotion, both times against Alain Ngalani after their first bout ended in a no contest. ‘Chopper’ Chi dispatched of Ngalani in under a round in the rematch in July 2014.
Despite not fighting in MMA for over a year, Lewis-Parry has kept busy under the GLORY Kickboxing banner, fighting three times, with two knockouts.
