Poland’s KSW Federation have announced three bouts for their first ever UK show in London, scheduled for October 31st at the SSE Arena, Wembley.
London’s own James “The Sledgehammer” McSweeney (14-12) will fight in England for the first time since 2011, welcoming fellow kickboxer-turned-MMA-fighter Marcin Różalski (5-3). McSweeney will make his KSW debut as a veteran of the UFC, One FC and domestic promotions such as BAMMA, Cage Rage and UCMMA.
McSweeney stated – “I am very proud to sign with KSW. They are a doing great things in the MMA industry, bringing in big names to make very exciting fights across Europe! I’m very excited to fight and show the KSW fans what I do!
“I’m happy to make my KSW debut on October 31st in the amazing SSE Arena, Wembley. I have fought there many times early in my career and I can’t wait to see all my fans in the UK to watch me fight against Rozalski. THIS WILL BE A FIGHT NOT TO MISS!!!”
KSW: Road to Wembley will also feature an intriguing welterweight title contest between the reigning champion Borys Mańkowski (17-5-1) and dangerous Russian Mikhail Tsarev (29-4). These two were first scheduled to face each other in February, but Tsarev’s sickness forced him off the card, while Mańkowski defeated late-replacement opponent, Mohsen Bahari.
Also, middleweight heavy hitters Brett Cooper (20-11) and Maiquel Falcao (34-7) will square off against each other in the anticipated battle of former Bellator contenders.
In the KSW: Road to Wembley headliner, fresh of his dominant 27-second victory over Rolles Gracie, “The world’s strongest MMA fighter” Mariusz Pudzianowski (9-3) will look to add another win to his growing MMA resume. His opponent is expected to be announced in the upcoming weeks.
