Titan Fighting Championships, Brett Johns

Former 135lb Titan FC champion Brett Johns has the chance to reclaim his title when he faces Ricky Simon at Titan FC 37 on March 4.

The event takes place in Ridgefield, Washington and features three title bouts. The news come from Elias Cepeda on FOX Sports.

Also on the card, two former Titan FC champions collide, when former Titan FC featherweight champion Desmond Green meets former Titan FC lightweight champion Pat Healy.

Wales’ Johns (12-0) won the Titan FC bantamweight title in March last year, submitting Walel Watson with a second round rear-naked-choke. He was stripped of the title after missing weight for a fight with Anthony Gutierrez in July – however he still managed a split decision win.

Almost a year since first capturing the gold, “The Pikey” has the opportunity to take back something he never lost against, but has a tough test against Washington’s own Simon (7-0).

Speaking on War of the Words Podcast, Johns said: “It’s going to be a tough fight, it’s for the bantamweight belt, it’s a tough young up and coming prospect called Ricky Simon, who in my opinion one of the most underrated guys on the Titan FC bantamweight roster.

“His last fight he fought a guy called Alex Soto; who you might remember fought the likes of Michael MacDonald in the UFC and put a dominant three round performance against him.

“This guy, he’s going to be a great prospect and will eventually be in that UFC slot, but come March 4 there is one guy that deserves the belt.

“March 4, undefeated or not I see it going the same way.”

The two other title fights on the card feature, Titan FC featherweight champion Andre Harrison defends against ex-UFC fighter Steven Siler. Elsewhere, Tim Elliott makes his second flyweight title defence against Pedro Nobre.
