A Bout between former Bellator champion Alexander Volkov and heavyweight mainstay Roy Nelson has been added to UFC on Fox 24.
Volkov (27-6) made his promotional debut last November at UFC Fight Night 99 where he earned a split decision win over Timothy Johnson.
This victory extended the 28-year old Russians unbeaten run to 3-fights with “Drago” also earning back-to-back stoppage wins under the M1 banner against Denis Smoldarev and Attila Vegh before signing for the WME-IMG owned promotion.
Fan favorite Nelson (22-13) will enter the contest after enduring mixed fortunes in recent times having gone 2-4 in his last 6 bouts. During this period “Big County” suffered setbacks against Alistair Overeem, Josh Barnett, Derrick Lewis before bouncing back with a vengeance at UFC Fight Night 95 where he knocked out Brazilian Antonio Silva.
