Finland’s finest Makwan Amirkhani will face Arnold Allen at the O2 Arena in London, England this weekend. “Mr. Finland” spoke to MMAPlus ahead of his upcoming bout.

Amirkhani was quick to accept claims of him being a “Brit killer” after wins over Andy Ogle and Mike Wilkinson. Asked whether he was making it a habit of beating British fighters the 28-year-old admitted “Yes. I’ve done it two times now. I can make that three.”

There were worries of Amirkhani suffering from ring rust after having a year out of the cage but the Finnish prospect was quick to deny these claims.

Speaking at UFC London media day at Glaziers Hall: “I feel more than good. I feel better than I did in Stockholm. Better than I did in Berlin. I feel better than last time in London. I’m in the best shape of my life.”

Amirkhani’s personality shone through after talking about his recent traumatic experience in which a burglar tried robbing from a friend’s house and held his brother. Amirkhani in typical “Mr. Finland” fashion knocked the criminal out and described the moment as “knockout of the year.”

He explained: “If you are in a situation where a child or someone else is in danger and you have the opportunity to help, you need to do that no matter what. If you get stabbed or die in that situation to help another person, so be it. Die with respect”.

The returning Fin closed out the talks with MMA Plus by expressing his desire for an event in his native home: “I want to fight in Finland. I want to fight in Helsinki. It’s time for the UFC to come to Finland. When there is an event in Stockholm or somewhere next to Finland, Finnish people are wondering why people aren’t coming to Finland. There are places for it to be held.”
