Heavyweight fighter Andrei Arlovski (23-10-1) has been added to the UFC’s ever growing injury list following arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder last week.

Luckily for the world’s No.1 mixed martial arts promotion, Arlovski will only be on the shelf for between six to eight weeks and is expected to make a return to action during the first quarter of 2015.

The former heavyweight champion who won the title when defeated Tim Sylvia at UFC 59 has been in fine form since he resigned by the Ultimate Fighting Champion, defeating TUF season 10 finalist by split decision at UFC 174 as well as scoring an impressive KO win over Antonio “Big Foot” Silva at UFC Fight Night 51.

This last victory extended the Belarusian undefeated record to 4-fights, after being on the wrong end of a unanimous decision loss to Anthony “Rumble” Johnson at World Series of Fighting 2.

MMA Plus wishes Andrei Arlovski the best of luck in his recovery and we will bring you the latest news on this story as we get it.
