BELFAST, Northern Ireland – Brett Johns (13-0) extended the unbeaten start to his professional mixed martial arts career when dominated Kwan Ho Kawk (9-1) at UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast.

The Swansea native showcased improved striking which he used to great effect in conjunction with his well documented grappling to control the fight from start to finish against his South Korean opponent get the nod 30-27 on all of the judges scorecards.

Speaking to the media in attendance shortly after his debut win the Welshman who has held world titles in two different promotions was overjoyed at being the first man to represent his country in the Ultimate Fight Championship and to put on a such an impressive performance.

“Its been an amazing experience. Its a privilege to represent Wales like I said about me Jack [Marshman] we’re both from separate teams but out here we are team Wales and its been amazing to represent Wales and I’m thankful to the UFC for giving me the opportunity.”

After handing Kwak the first loss of his professional career, the 24-year old Chris Rees Academy trained fighter called for the UFC to make their first trip to Wales in the near future.
