Joanne Calderwood (pictured, left) has been impressed with her next opponent Maryna Moroz (pictured, right) before their UFC Fight Night showdown at the Tauron Arena in Krakow, Poland on April 11.

The Scot, a well educated Muay Thai striker, welcomes Moroz (5-0) to the Octagon after outpointing Seo Hee Ham in December.

Calderwood (9-0) told MMAPLUS: “I know what everyone knows about Moroz. I’ve watched a few fights on YouTube and she’s got good armbars – she’s going to be very dangerous going into her UFC debut.”

The Dinky Ninjas star has been spreading her wings again, training with the likes of Andreas Michael at the renown Allstars MMA in Stockholm, Sweden.

“I’ve been training there for the last six weeks and it’s been awesome. I started my fight camp with Dinky Ninjas as normal but I came out to Sweden just to get away from some personal stuff. However, I also believe it is important to get out of my comfort zone as my opponent is a little bit taller than I’m used to, so it’s nice to do something different.”

The Glaswegian is thankful for how the women’s scene has flourished in Britain, and believes her career has progressed with perfect timing.

“I’ve been grateful for the opportunities that have come at the right time. I think I’ve come along just in time and with other British girls like Rosi Sexton and Lisa Higo… They had awesome careers but maybe they’d be here too if they’d come along five or six years later.”
