In the aftermath of UFC 205 two-weight champion Conor McGregor finally revealed to the world that he was expecting his first child with his longtime girlfriend early next year but this was not the only revelation the Irishman had up his sleeves.

During his post press conference the SBG Ireland trained fighter revealed to members of the press in attendance that he wants to play a bigger role in the UFC and would like to open talks with the organisations top brass as soon as possible to discuss the future and a possible stake in the company that was recently sold to WME-IMG.

During the conference McGregor would comment:

“I want ownership now. I want my share. I want what I’ve earned. Whoever runs this shit now has to come to me and give me my slice. I’m aware of my worth. Now I’ve got a family, a kid on the way. I’m coming for mine now if you want me back. I’ve outgrown the contract. You want me to stick around, bring me onboard for real. Not just as this. I need to be set for life. There’s people who have shares in the company, celebrities, Conan O’Brien owns the UFC now, so, where’s my share? Where’s my equity? I’m the one that’s banking this.”

On the night where the Irishman cemented his status as a true global superstar by becoming the first dual-weight champion in the promotions history it will be interesting to see if McGregors wishes are granted but MMA Plus will be on hand to keep you update on this developing story.
