A fight between British welterweight Danny Roberts and controversial American newcomer Mike Perry has been added to UFC 204: Bisping vs. Henderson 2, which takes place in Manchester, England on October 8th.
Roberts (13-1; fighting out of Florida, USA) will step back into the Octagon following his victory over Dominque Steele at UFC 197, which earned him a Fight of the Night bonus. His opponent, Perry (8-0; fighting out of Orlando Florida, USA), meanwhile, makes a quick return to action following an emphatic win over South Korea’s Hyun Gyu Lim, in what was Perry’s Octagon debut at UFC 202.
Roberts, who considers the city of Liverpool his home, will undoubtedly be looking to rally the support of his home fans in attendance on the night, inside what is expected to be a sold out Manchester Arena.
UFC 204 is headlined by UFC middleweight world champion Michael “The Count” Bisping and No.12 ranked Dan “Hendo” Henderson. The pair famously met once before inside the Octagon at UFC 100 in 2009, a bout which ended in Henderson knocking out Bisping in spectacular fashion in the second round. The first British fighter ever to hold a UFC world title, Bisping is now hoping to set the record straight and to put on an unforgettable performance for his home fans.
Other British fighters already confirmed to fight on the card are No.9 ranked light heavyweight Jimi Manuwa , bantamweight Brad Pickett , welterweight Leon Edwards and featherweight Davey Grant.
