A fight between former Bellator and UFC lightweight champions are one of three bouts added to what is shaping up to be a stacked UFC Fight Night 59 card.

Former Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez (25-4) will being looking for his first win inside the octagon after losing to Donald Cerrone via unanimous decision on his UFC debut. Standing across the cage from Alvarez will be former the UFC lightweight champion Benson Henson (21-4) who will also enter their fight off the back of a shock knockout loss to Rafael dos Anjos in August.

In the second announcement of the day Northern Ireland’s “Stormin” Norman Parke (20-2-1) will take on American Jorge Masvidal (28-8) in another battle of the lightweights.  Next Generation trained Parke will look to extend his unbeaten run to 12-fights when he faces former street fighter turned Strikeforce lightweight title contender Masvidal who is himself riding a 3-fight win streak that has seen him defeat Pat Healy, Daron Cruickshank and most recently James Krause.

In the third fight added to the card Uriah Hall (9-4) will clash with Costas Philippou (13-4) in an intriguing middleweight encounter. After a slow start to his UFC career, TUF season 17 finalist Hall will look to build upon a recent run of good form which has seen him beat Thiago Santos and Chris Leben in recent times. His opponent Philippou halted a 2-fight slide when he defeated Lorenz Larkin via 1st round TKO and will look to make it 2 wins in a row when he faces fellow New Yorker Hall.

UFC Fight Night 59 takes place on 18th January 2015 live from the TD Arena, in Boston.
