UFC flyweight Ian McCall will once again have to wait to return to the Octagon after falling ill and will now not be able to compete against Jarred Brooks at UFC 208 on Saturday night following an announcement from the UFC this morning coming via Champions.co who was the first to report the news.

McCall had gastrointestinal issues and was transported to the hospital last night, per the UFC and has since been pulled from the card on the recommendations of a doctor. ‘Uncle Creepy’ has consistently experienced bad luck on fight week and this is the fourth fight to fall through for the 32-year old just hours before the bout since last summer.

McCall was first scheduled to face Neil Seery in Belfast, but his opponent got sick the day prior to the fight. McCall was then slated to face Ray Borg at UFC 203 in September, but once again the fight was pulled once Borg was rushed to hospital during fight week. Prior to that fight Justin Scoggins had issues cutting weight at UFC 201 in July. This is the second time McCall has had to withdraw from a fight, his first was against Dustin Ortiz in August, the Californian hurt himself and had to withdraw.

McCall’s original opponent for UFC 208 was a rescheduled bout against Seery, however he once again had towithdraw, this time due to injury, and Jarred Brooks stepped in on short notice.

Brooks and McCall have been in a war of words in recent weeks since Brooks was named as Seery’s replacement and that continued today with his most recent post on Twitter.

The last time McCall stepped foot in the Octagon was a loss to John Lineker in January 2015.
