The UFC have today revealed that Irish lightweight standout Joe Duffy (13-1) will face Brazilian Ivan Jorge (26-4) when the UFC ventures to Glasgow for the first time on July 18 at the SSE Hydro Arena.

The well rounded Duffy, who boasts an undefeated boxing record at 6-0 with 8 submission through his MMA exploits, made his UFC debut in dominant fashion at UFC 185 in March. With a reputation for finishing fights and previous of current featherweight title challenger Conor McGregor, all eyes were on Duffy as he knocked out American Jake Lindsey with a body shot at less than two minutes into the opening round.

In contrast, Jorge boasts more than double the amount of MMA fight experience held by 27-year-old Duffy, with 30 fights to his name. However, the 34-year-old has not been so prolific in the striking department, with just 3 knockout stoppages against his 13 submission wins, and furthermore, while Jorge has never been submitted, Duffy has never been knocked out.

The UFC are yet to announce a headline fight for Glasgow’s first UFC Fight Night.
