UFC Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk was in attendance to speak with the media ahead of the UFC’s first show in her home nation of Poland.
The newly crowned champion, who defeated Carla Esparza via TKO at UFC 185 last month, was questioned by MMA Plus regarding a potential showdown with Scotland’s Joanne Calderwood, who many feel could provide an exciting challenge for the 115lb crown as a fellow Muay Thai specialist.
Jedrzejczyk (9-0) responded, and seemed perfectly open to meeting Calderwood (9-0) in her own back yard when the UFC heads to Glasgow on July 18, however, she feels that Calderwood’s up coming opponent, Maryna Moroz (5-0), is a less than impressive scalp, and suggested that Calderwood should take on a better opponent before challenging for her title.
